Definition – What does Gas Detection mean?

A gas detection system is a system that detects potentially harmful gases. For example, H2S, which can be a life threat to organic compounds, humans, and animals.

Gas detection is done in organizations and plants where there is a chance of leakage and seepage of dangerous gas. A gas detection system is usually connected with an alarm system, so as soon as the potentially dangerous gas is detected, the alarm is set to ON automatically, which warns the workers in time to safely evacuate. The gas detection system is used in many industries. Such industries include mining industries, oil and gas industries, urea industry, etc.
