HSSE WORLD explains Asbestosis

Asbestosis is a chronic inflammatory medical condition affecting the parenchymal tissue of the lungs. The patients are most often exposed to asbestos during the mining, manufacturing, and handling processes. Affected individuals experience shortness of breath (dyspnea) and are at a high risk of lung cancer. Asbestosis damages the lung tissues and leads to breathing complications that are not treatable.
